Good to see progress again mike. How easy/simple was the fibreglassing? i'm wanting to use that on my next build too and debating whether to get someone to do it or have a crack at it myself.
well the process was simple enough and pretty self explanatory, however i did have my dad showing me how to do it. A very messy affair but pretty straight forward, over lapping the matt with each other and applying the resin generously everywhere, i think if i didn't have my dad i would have definitely got someone to do it. Anything's easy when you know how hey

looks super strong now though, i feel much happier with it compared to the (type of) epoxy coats i applied. almost ready for glazing now :grinno: :grinno:

Mile High in Northern AZ, baby!~
this might be a little late...
If you wash with cold water and soap your pores will stay closed and the fiberglass will not dig into them.
Also after washing and drying off, use lengths of duct tape on your skin...press the duct tape on your affected skin and slowly pull off the tape...Slowly or you'll break off the fibers...the strong adhesive on the tape will stick to the fibers and they will pull out of your skin no problem...;)

Cheers Mike, sounds like something i can pursuade Mrs Satan to help with and not let her know how itchy it's going to be!

Are you just doing one layer of fibreglass or building up several for strength/security?

we did two/three layers (three where it over lapped) of 450g matt on the main tank and a top layer of 50g, i think, a very fine matt to reduce the fibres poking through. filter just had one/two layers of 450g matt. both have had a thin gel coat and the final generous coat should be tomorrow night, with added blue pigment in both coats. pics to follow :)
