Im personally using a Taiwanese Co2 kit, since in all honesty, 99% of the planted tanks i've seen here seem to be using the same stuff, unless its a show tank, then they may create a whole ADA setup to try and sell to customers...

Which one is the Taiwanese CO2 System? I've seen another one that looks like the Fluval system, but it's an Asian brand. I'm wondering if you got that one. Should be good:)

Yeah...ADA is ridiculously over-priced. I don't care if people really swear by it saying, "It's the BEST!" I have a hard time believing that it's worth 3-5 times the amount as another brand that does the exact same thing, lol!

On that note, I did buy ADA Aquasoil because I heard it was "the best" and I admit that it looks great compared to Eco-Complete, but harder to plant because it's so light in weight. It's still hard to anchor plants in the soil so now I have HC, Dwarf Swords, and an Anubias that just floats around (still being lazy in trimming and rearranging this tank, lol!). I can't tell the difference in plant growth, so I can only assume that Eco-Complete is just as good at half the price.

Heres a quick pic of the bottle + regulator for you to check out for a quick comparison...

As for ADA, definitely agree it is extremely expensive, although i guess what you are paying for is a good quality product with Japanese QC... Even if it doesnt necessarily mean it outperforms other brands, but you do get quality assurance...

As for their soil, find using the large grain on the bottom and the finer grain on top helps keeps plants down okay?

Btw, i forgot to ask, when is it a good time to start pumping more Co2 into the tank if you dont see any or too much improvement in the plants? 1 week? 2weeks? 1 month?

So i've taken out one old patch of HC and added two new patches in after i got my Co2 kit...

If any ones seen my other thread will know i may fail at this, but given the circumstances will keep going with what i have since i do seem to see a few stems starting to creep outwards...

Sucks to hear that the HC isn't growing well:( I say you can pump up the CO2 after a couple of weeks if you don't see any growth. I think after getting my CO2 set up, I noticed some growth after a couple of weeks. If the HC doesn't work out, DHG (Dwarf Hair Grass) is also a good one that I like.

^ Thanks Ben, i mean i wouldnt say it isnt working out per se (still too early to tell), but from what i hear, it would seem that using my current lighting its going to be a gamble if, and how well it will work due to possibly being too weak...

Either way in a few weeks all will be revealed...

If you don't have a drop checker, you're essentially just guessing. You should be able to tell by the behavior of your fish if you're using too much.

True, i've been keeping a close eye on them just to make sure they dont suffocate... Since that would suck pretty bad...
