That thread is 6 years old. Older strains of Flowerhorn lived longer than the ones being pumped out today. Today you can't expect them to live much more than 3 years.
this is surprising to hear,very surprising.Frankly hard to believe,but what is a platinum/silk flowerhorn anyway?who knows what kind of genetic manipulation they're doing?
So really all kamfas will die within 2 yrs? wah... this dude just bought a $300 flowerhorn from an LFS by my hood.. it was at least 11" .. so he will enjoy his fish for 1 yr and bam?
whats sad is that i see a lot of Flowerhorns in my LFS all around the 5" - 9" mark being held inside 10 gallon tanks with dividers....
