As usual, thank you for the detailed answer. We just rescued a 2" little guy from a closing pet store. While I'm not a big fan of pet stores selling RTCs I figured since they were closing he wasn't going to run out and buy more... My oldest daughter named him Nugget. I figure I've got five years or so before he needs something bigger than my 1200.

Here's a link to a thread and the purpose of getting Nugget:

I'm woundering if I went out built a 5000 or 10,000 gallon fish tank out of cement or cement blocks in my house in the fish tanks own fish room. And I had to sell the house would I be able to market on Monster fish keepers or on the house for sale add that my house as a 10,000 gallon cement tank with viewing windows built into it or would have have to remove it before I sell the house. I wounder would many people on Mosnter fish keepers go out and buy a house if it already had a super tank built into it?

Always more fun to get a fish as a baby and then watch and keep track of his growth over the years. Way to go Jonathan.......

I remebered that your mega fish tank had depressions in it that went four feet into the ground below glass level and that you said the cement walls sticking up in the tank between the depressions held it up.

If I where to build a giant tank and had a cement wall go up between the two deep ends and that went three to four feet above the bottom linking up the cement section that would hold up the two ayrlic planels could it be possible to mold the cement on the tank devider and suport wall to make it look like a giant underwater model of a large model Dam? I was thinking about the suport brace looking like a model dam and then having it to where I could fill one side up to the level of the dam and keep the water level lower on the other side if I wanted to have the dam function like a dam with water spilling over it though model spill ways or I could make it completly underwater.

A look at a few more fish that were caught in my 15,000 and moved to my 52,000. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UHIAG1JRyw&feature

The fish moved:

11 year old 33" Pterodoras granulosus (Armando, Bacu, blind cat) bought at Big Al's Aquarium Services on Dundas St in Mississauga Ontario in 1999 at 7" for $26.95.

12 year old 20" and 23" Paratilapia aureum? given to me by a fellow player on my basketball team Bret Patriquin of Ajax/Pickering Ontario in 1998 at 3".

10 year old 34 1/2" Lepisosttus osseus (Long nose gar) a rescue fish given to me by Jerry Draper owner of The Tropical Fish Room in Brantford Ontario in 2000 at 11".

11 year old 28 1/2" Scleropages aureus (Red tail golden arowana) bought at Dragon Aquarium on Dundas St in Mississauga Ontario in 1999 from Steve and Shelley at 5" for $1,300 (a good price at the time but since the 2007/2008 they have dropped to the $500 range.

The fishermen/women include:

Nikki my daughter and Richard my son in law.

Terry Clements (Fever) from Fergus Ontario an african cichlid breeder, motorcycle hobbyist and moderator on the Kitchener Waterloo Aquarium Society cichlid threads on their forum.

Noel Nathaniel from Brampton Ontario a hobbyist and former Hamilton Aquarium Society president.

Anthony McAslin from Brantford Ontario a hobbyist, Discus importer and president of the Cambridge Aquarium Society.

Simon Lufman (Simon L on MFK) from Oakville Ontario true monster fish keeper, a University student, works at Aquatic Kingdom in Mississauga and former fish room manager at Big Al's Aquarium Services in Oakville.
