How about a pump for me? Which one would be good on the 29g tank?

Thanks!
Wow everyone is relying on Chompers to size up their pump? It ain't exactly hard. You said you have head of 5 feet is that for you 29. if so get the quietone 1200

If i were to put a shut-off valve just above the t, will the syphon start up again once the valve is re-opened? i am sure it would if it were after the t but then water would probably shoot up out of the vent pipe huh? Just trying to throw ideas out there so i do it right the first time..C

You can put it after the T and that will work fine, so long as the vent pipe is above the tanks water line it won't syphon any water. (though if it is only just above the water line the "bounce" of the water may spill some out, a couple of inches above is enough to stop this)

First get the specifics for what you want to do. In your description two pages back you were way too vague. At "sorta five feet" and for a 29g, it is going to be hard to pick a pump. Measure to the top of your tank from the top of the surface of the water in your sump or wet/dry. Also, give me the turnover that you want.

Hint: Start a new thread with pictures of what you have. When it is mixed in with everyone elses stuff, important details get lost in the jumble. In your own thread, the focus is on your task at hand...until the tread gets hijacked...but that never happens here on MFK :D

Exactly! The model 800 isn't going to work but the 1200 may still have to be tailored with a bypass valve.

Hey Chompers, I have green and yellow teeth, what color toothbrush should i use, and do you have a toothpaste recomendation? lol
You can color cordinate your toothbrush to either complement your teeth or to blend in with them. Real Tree has new camo colored toothbrushes in their new Trailer Park line. A Mossy Oak pattern will look lovely.

As for toothpaste, both Liquid Plumber and Draino are expected to introduce new lines of products this year. Coincidently, both will be entering the toothpaste field. In the mean time, Comet will do nicely but only comes in powder and gel form. Turtle Wax will add a luxurious shine.:D

After is good but not above it on the vent pipe.

I think my overflow is getting air trapped in it or something because the flow of it keeps slowing down then the water level in the tank will rise to about 1/2" below the top of the tank the it will start siphoning really qiuckly until it gets back to the top of the intake, it's kinda scary.
this is my overflow.

but after I took this pic I realised the intake was to low so I added a 45 elbow to the end of the 90 elbow so the water line would sit a little higher.
45 degree elbow

Do you think this could be sucking in air?
I think I might have to take the overflow out and cut of the elbow from the intake and add some kind of straight extender PVC fitting, so the intake is just a straight pipe with no elbows. Would that make a difference?

EDIT:Wow you gotta check this out, clear PVC!!!
