I think this is the simplest way...here I included 2 options ,you can either make a hole on the bottom of the tank or at the side of your tank, you can use a power drill to make a hole on your tank(use the tip that is used in making a hole in a glass) never rush your glass when drilling it.. just make a steady hand and let the drill use its weight to prick the glass... you can choose on a variety of diameter you like, its best to have the biggest possible PVC pipe for it to accompany the most strongest water pump....comments...comments....comments...thanx:) sorry for the presentation:grinno: I unninstalled my sketchup:grinno:

heres the jpeg pic

This thread was made for people that didnt want to drill the tank & would prefer to make overflows.

It is called DIY Overflow, not how to drill glass or hole placement for drilling glass.

Thank you for your tips. :)

Will it work without the elbow on the part inside the tank? Here's picture to show what I mean. I know I'm not a windows paint artist.

no the U loop in the tank has to be lower than the U loop outside the tank.

It somewhat is lower :naughty: I just suck at computer drawing. So, lets say that overflow is perfect. If I remove the elbow inside the tank, will it still work? The water level will be like 1/4" higher than the pipe right?

If you remove the elbow at the intake of the overflow the water level will be the height of the intake tube.
