Good post boss!!!

Thats looks like the bridge on bakers basin rd. If you cross the street on the left side and follow the path its a pond we call bakers basin pond. If you go look at last years thread youlll see thats my early season spot I usually get my first fish of the year from!!

PS- that one pic is not a crappie, its a rock bass!!

All of the frustration and suffering through teaching myself how to fly fish has finally paid off. I went out for a few hours Saturday afternoon. I had just strung up some new, heavier line on my fly rod and was basically going to try and get a feel for the weight difference between the new and the old. 5wt is what I had, and I bought 8 wt. It worked magically. The heavier line allowed me to cast about 10+ feet farther than normal with half the effort.
After getting the feel for the line I threw on my waders and hopped into the lake. I only worked about 200 yards of shoreline, but it paid off. :D

My first decent largemouth on the fly. I didn't get a great measurement on him, but I would say that he was roughly 18 inches, and close to 4lbs.

Not 10 minutes later and 20 feet from where I caught the first one, another beast hit me. I figure this guy was roughly the same size, maybe a tad bit heavier. What a blast!

Great post and congrats on the monsters!!

They both look to be in the high 3's!!

thanks always glad to be corrected got to learn this stuff somehow I got no one to fish with. there were tons of those little rock bass on D&R under the train bridge.

how do you reel in crank baits I have two the rebel craw which is apparently the #1 lure in Australia for the last three years and a Matzou 9/32 ounce

can you recomend any brand color diving depth to me whats your favorite lure I want to try new stuff but for now the small storm curl tails are working great but I ran out...

Great post "Tstove15" & "Crispy"!!!!

If it aint crispy, it just aint right, lol!!!

1000th post!
XechoX AWESOME POST

Tstove, Try to put as little as possible tension on the line even if you have good knots line etc your impulse is to bring it in as fast as possible but hooks break, knots break, rods break, and line breaks. set your drag lower too.
Nice fish thanks for sharing!

Will be in South Jersey to Pick-up 200+ Lobsters and then go Fishing on as many bodies of water as I can find. Plus I will try out the D&R and the Raritan river at as many spots as I can find to fish. Starting Thursday evening, latest Friday Morning through Sunday/Monday Evening/Morning. Anyone interested in hooking up and fishing let me know, I can pick you up or we can meet at a spot, either way is ok with me.......... I think I'm gonna bring my wadders this time............ Msg me.

this is my biggest cat in awhile. I pulled it up on raw shrimp and ended up giving it to a guy who asked for it. His cooler was 2 feet long so the cat was probaly around 28 inches but i have no idea on weight.
