nope, this was cuaght in the connestoga river by millersville/lancaster....I fish the delaware all the time and am yet to catch a bass from there (besides striper) but that is becuase i dont fish north enough

i went out on the delaware at high tide this morning...I was getting bites all morning but was not able to land anything good. I got a couple shad and a couple small striper. The bites i was receiving were not even big like a catfish or a striper so i thought that was espeically wierd at high tide. 90% of the time i would lose my worm becuase of these stupid shad

Nothing wrong with shad, the big ones put up a really good fight.

Nice stripper man. Had no idea they'll take worms like that.

Do you just throw em out with a bobber?

I just hooked on a nightcrawler on a #4 hook with a 2 ounce weight....never tried a bobber becuase it would probaly be down the river in no time.

Im not sure what kind of shad i am hooking into, but no one around me catches big shad...I know they can get big but the max i see around here is 6-7 inches which doesnt put up a good fight with a surf rod lol

tstove your second picture is of a white perch.

well that would explain why i dont see anyone ever catching big ones lol..thanks for the info

now don't hate on the white perch, it's not his fault lol. Theyre good eating but hard to come by a ton of them with any size. They run the susquehanna river here every year in March, every once in awhile youll get a bucketful of eaters but after their run only babies <6" are left hanging around and do nothing but steal bait. They're easy enough to catch on just a hook with worm layed still on the bottom but if they arent biting, put the worm on a shad dart and that seems to do the trick.

my buddy matt caught this monster on March 20th on just a hunk of worm. it was 13.5" and weighed 1lb 7oz. and he got a citation for it. We decided to release this one so he could make more monster perch.
