I see you love the cats!!!

haha well the delaware river is one of the easiest places for me to access to fish and there are pretty much only catfish and perch now adays but we get the striper in the spring run. I try atleast once a week or every other week to get out on a smaller river to hit up the smallies, but sadly there are not any great public places around to fish for large mouth

caught a nice salmon (and two rainbow trout) off a local pier here in Lake Ontario.

here is a pic of the salmon.

its very unusual to get salmon off piers here until the fall, but apparently the water temp is still cold so the fish are still up shallow.

people are also getting them out in 50 feet of water with downriggers etc.

but there is action right off the shore at the moment. way cool!:headbang2
looks like a sea flouren strain brown trout, got any better pics?

sorry no. it was definitely a salmon, the inside of the jaws were black. I believe that makes it a chinook salmon?

Also the tail is forked, browns have very squarish tails.

Thats a nice fish, sounded like a fun day...your channels in the susky look much different from mine in the delaware. Mine our a more silverish color while yours are a more yellowish. Interesting....

it seems like alot of the smaller ones i get a silverish but everything over the 3 lbs is yellow. look down for another yellow one.

After the clouds had past we headed back out to the same spot as the other day to continue to put a hurting on the channel catfish. We got to the spot around 6:30pm and they were hitting right away. We picked up camp around 9pm as the clouds were heading back in. i caught 13 channels, 11 of which were over 3lbs. It was my turn to get big fish today when this 7lb 12oz 27" male tryed to rip my rod out of the holder.

again tstove i really cant explain why they are yellow, but he is.

Spot fished-1

Time fished-2 hrs

Fish landed-3

Got off alittle early, so I met up with Dennis at 'Rosedale". Befre I got there He said his first was 3+ pounds and then two small ones after that. Once it stooped rainning they stop hitting the buzzy,by then Dennis had landed two but nothing wanted my chatter bait. I made a great choice with the white/chart spinny and with that I was able to land 3 quickly before I called it quits!

Kinda slow but I still enjoyed it!!!
