Another flattie while pre fishing for a TX, this time on a crankbait... Last tx i got one out of a brushpile on a t-rig I thought was gonna be my big fish winner....

This will be part one of todays fishing adventures cause Dennis and I are going to the night fishing tournament at 7!!

Well today I decided to try a lake(GROPPS) I never go to cause I never catch anything. Big bruh(Bjay) and I started out at 6:15am. Bjay landed the first fish on a crank bait. My first came a couple hours later, it was an small one that hit the chatter bait. After that we went all the way around the lake and seen no more action, Bjay was ready to quit but I said lets do one more trip around. Mann good thing I did cause a few minutes later I threw(chatter bait) in front of a laydown and BAM a very nice 2:15 came in!!!! Then my dad called and said " I see yall". He just happened to be coming out there to fish, so Bajy got off and pops got on. We made one trip around and I didnt get nothing but pops got two small bass on a very small rattle trap. Once we made it to the boat ramp I said lets try by the bridge real quick. On my first cast I felt that magic TICK TICK and with a good hookset DAYYYYAAAAAA and very nice 4.1 landed!!! I called it quits after a few more cast.

Gropps lake is still not one of my favorites but it did give up two monster today!!!

Well the night fishing tournament was very interesting .

It was 25 people tonight and the pot was $250. We only caught three shorts. Some people said they caught a bunch of shorts and some said they caught nothing. At the weigh in four fish were brought up, and the winner(biggest) was a 2.3 !!

Didnt win again buts its only $13 plus its fun!!

mr. kiwi - nice flattie, i havent been able to catch any myself this year until last night and yours was much much nicer then my dinks. what lures have u been catching these on, im almost tempted to try.

mr. fiend - tournament fishing is fun, the hype and excitement is what makes it all worthwhile. winning some cash doesnt hurt either. my catfish tournaments are unfortuantly $50 to enter. theres a 1st 2nd and 3rd place but damn thats alot of money to lose in a game of chance.

as for last night, my dads buddy took us to show us his favorite spot. hes caught flatties over 20lbs here but he didn't get any last night. i caught 3 and a channel cat that were all under 3lbs. these things have such voracious appetites, the smallest flatties will try and take a bluegill thats like 5inches. i think they are gorgeous animals, though many will not agree. go back out tonight for channels. update tomorrow

Fished this morning with the buzzy had to BIG bass miss and about 4 others i landed two, got pictures of the last one but deleted them by accident. they were both about 13 inches.

Decided to hit up the "Amazon" and we begun at 6:30am. I landed the first fish at 7:04 and from the there it was POPPING for most of the day.
I was able to land fish on all five rods today. Some on the dinger, the chatter did its thing again, two on the crank bait, the buzzy even came into play, and I landed two on the spinny! Dennis landed his one on a shaky head. I too im confused on how that happens but it does, IDK!

P.S.-I didnt catch the sucker fish, it was on its last leg and swiming around crazy so I snaged it!!

No monsters today but ill call it a great day of fishing!!!

I love this fishing season caught my largest two fish (not very dificult considering I started fishing last year) 14 inches woot both under the same bridge and it only took a couple casts. im obsessed I go fishing as ofter as I can which was daily before I whent on vacation. I screwed up my shoulder so no kayaking I did go fishing the day before yesterday caught three small mouth. Im sad they de-weeded the pond so now I dont know where the fish hide I used to cast into openings and catch tons.


I think the fish are sad too cause there used to be tons jumping our of the water catching dragonflies sob

went out today and caught 22 walley between the four of us ranging from 16 inches to 30. real fat ones. didnt take any pictures as my batteries were not charged so i just wanted to start cleaning them up. next time ill get some pics.

ive been after a 10lb+ channel cat from this river since the beginning of this year, caught an 8lb 2oz in march and an 8lb 1oz a few weeks ago. nothing else came close till last night. wed been on the water since 6:30 and i only ever had 1 bite which turned out to be a dink 4lber. 9:30 comes and my rod goes down hard. I jumped up and the fight is on. I dont like to lose fish and i wasn't going to lose this one. he had my white and red uglystik catfish rod bent looking like a candy cane. i get him to the boat and my heart leaps, i knew i had my 10lber.

Came to 32" and 11lb 5oz. I'm sad it was dark and i couldn't get a better picture but he's a citation fish so i guess the paper with do.
