FISHING SEASON 2K10!!!!!!

sad day. tried out a state park a mile away from our cabin lost my buzzy (again) and a rapala two casts in a row. 7 bucks lost in two casts, are you kidding me?
Anyway i wont be able to afford a buzzy for a while so fly fishing will have to work for a while. Anyway i didnt catch any fish this morning but found a spot i will try out in a few hours with a few bass.

Are your knots slipping? Are you getting bit off? What kind of line are you using?

Most people use the clince knot but I perfur the palomar knot. I use it on every bait I use, it has never let me down in the four years I been usin it!

I do use the clinch knot, but if I'm tying up mono I do a small variation because the line slips so easily. With braid I think the clinch knot is pretty solid.

You're joking right? A clinch knot on braid will slip, modified or advanced clinch shouldn't but regular clinch will. I will only tie a palomar or double palomar with braid unless I am punching than I tie a modified snelled, flouro/mono/co-poly I will either tie a palomar or trilene knot.

Clinches will work on braid if you leave enough of a tag end. I have used it one remoras and bonita and it worked out fine.

Or you can tie a proven knot and not leave a long messy tag....Why chance it? Ask any serious tourney angler what knots they are using with braid...

And just to be clear we are talking regular clinch knot here not the improved clinch...

Hey guys its been a while since ive been on here, ive been fishing almost 3-4 days a week lost count of my catchs along time ago.

Salmon season is just days away, just got me a centerpin setup. Centerpin fishing is using a free floating fly reel on a long light rod mines 12'6". You drift bobbers with it in the rivers, gives you the most natural drift you can get as the spool just spins.

heres a few pics from recent times

I've never had a clinch knot slip on braid. I've had snaps bust and hooks bend, but I never have had a clinch knot slip on braid....

But then again, I'm not the world series fishing champion like someone here must be.
