180G drilled Tank, custom stand and full VHO hood, 350lbs medium size piece natural river gravel, custom made UGF plate, Ocean Clear Filter with not one but two Silent power pumps 350gph I believe (one is brand new never used) plus extra impellers, 3 RTGG's 1.2 12"~17" inches, one 8~9" inch Balas Shark, one Pink Convict, and two S. Cats, one that stopped eating for some reason and the other is growing like mad. Oh yeah theres a Sub 250 watt heater also. Some test kits I never use and some other odds and ends. Not a $1,000 but $750 cash I don't ship I wont split it up and it must be picked up all at once.

So when should I expect you?

seperating/ dividing the tank would surely be better than watching them die? I have not read all 239 pages of this thread but seeing your last posts and pics which dont really show that you are providing any useful info other shock value to me just see's cruel fish keeper.

hi sajica :)

i dont believe he is trying to be cruel. from what he stated, he spent alot of money on the tank for his GGs. they look very well taken care of, even though he always takes about eating them. its a love and hate relationship i believe.

to me, the thought of eating your pet fish is more disturbing then the pics. but he did prove that RTGG have teeth, so i give him credit for that.

sincerely yours,

Dead serious dude when you coming?, just know this, this isn't a cheap tank the glass is thick and empty it weighs 250lbs~300lbs took 4~5 people to get it in my apartment and set it up on the stand. And since the bulk heads are set in place on the tanks bottom, all moving and carrying needs to be done upsidedown.

Ok, I think I should mention that a pet to me would be more like a dog, cat or bird even but not fish. This maybe because I'm a fishmen. Or because I have never named a fish before, so fish aren't really pets for me. Though I did have a bit of a problem eating the big male RTGG that I put so much time in too. I personally only consumed a forkful. The others won't be as lucky though.

See my fish don't eat out of my hand, they don't come swimming over when I come over to the tank, even when feeding them. And I like it this way, I enjoy having a piece of wildlife in my home that I can enjoy in as natural of a setting as possible. if I wanted something that would dance around or sing or eat out of my hand whenever I was home, I'd get a bird, cat or dog.

Ok, why do you do it this way do it one or the other not both. You wipe out the total bacteria load of the filter plus you then dump 50% of the water and replace with totally clean water. Wouldn't it be easier, just to dump all the water and flush out all the filters and start fresh again, you'll get the same effect. You know I never flush out my internal filter, not once in the past 5 or so years it's been setup. Yes I have vacummed 10% of it out once or twice a year, but thats it. Oh yeah and I do WC every 10 or so days.

Not true at all in my experience. I run 2 filters the internal and the canister, every 3-4 months I remove the filter media for the internal and rinse it out in the water from the tank to stop it clogging up. The canister is touched every 18 months or so with the same treatment. I have been doing this for years without a problem.
Even if somehow I managed to wipe out the entire filter there is more than enough BB in the canister.

I did the same thing that day on the other 2 tanks which are setup the same with no problems, for some reason on this tank at this time I got a bloom?

Well appearently your internal filter on George's tank hold too much of the tank bacteria load or your changing too much water and the external filter doesn't have enough of the bacteria load to carry the tank, so your getting a bloom and since george is in this tank even though you may not be feeding him, he still produces waste which is throwing the bloom wrench and setting it back in it's course.

That would be a perfect explanation, and makes sense in every way, the only thing that I would disagree with is that I go through the same routine on the same tanks every few months on the internal filters with no problems, it's just strange?

Ok so you agree, so that means we're more than half way finished. Like I said one of your filters most probably the external one isn't getting the bacteria load it used too. Either do to the motor/pump slowing down or something blocking the intake flow or there was just too much packed material in it this time or too much way of large pieces and it was clogged.
