GLASS VS. ACRYLIC

I don't think they sell acrylic tanks in Toronto, but I'd go for one simply because they are less likely to leak.

I'm talking about 180G here.

I would like concrete with glass views, Unless I ever intend on moving it.

starfire glass is the best for clearness but as far as glass to acrilic goes i say glass all the way it cleans up much nicer and lasts forever

boys they sell those tanks near us its just alot more money becuase they are all imported from the states, i live in barrie bout and hour north of toronto

Yeah, I was searching the internet about Starphire and found these pictures. It looks crystal clear. I visited my LFS and asked if they can make an aquarium for me out of starphire and the guy suggested I just get the front viewing glass only in starphire (to save money). He quoted me an extra $200 for a 300g tank. And another website quoted an extra $175. Of course you can get all sides in starphire but for sure I think it is well worth the money for at least the front pane. It might even be cheaper than getting an acrylic. For the record, I do prefer glass if it is as clear as acrylic and starphire seems to be the answer.

Acrylic does'nt scratch, clumsy people do. I've had two TruVu tanks for over 20yrs, they look as good as they did new. The 75g "black back" 60" long tank has some warpage on the top but other than that, it's still perfect. The 125 isn't exhibiting any warpage.

I have a SeaClear which is also an excellent maker of acrylic tanks
