More excellent news, after clearing the algae on the front panel of my colony, I find that TWO of my keeper holdbacks from the bioaquatix x tuic cross are males. Here's the bigger one. He's the one I kept because he has his father's pattern on one side, and his mother's on the other. He's even getting a little nuchal hump. I'm seeing courting behavior between him and the female I got from @Showtimekev, so that all works out perfectly.

You’re in the right place. See what you like out of the whole thread. There are many examples of the multiple main sources for quality, pure hrp, except for one which is questionable as of late. I’m partial to bioaquatix but there’s Tangledupincichlids, Chris Butcher, others etc… but you could also PM @Hybridfish7 himself or @Showtimekev and see if or when they have stock available. Both keep some of the nicest hrp around.

WE FINALLY HAVE (het) PLATINUM FRY!
One of my platinum females from Rusty paired with the male from Chris Butcher. Fry just became free swimming today.

Good to finally have the platinum genes dispersing into the colony. I will however, still try to cross platinum to platinum to keep a pure line going.

My production colony is doing great. Pretty much every fish except for my tuic/bioaquatix x Rusty/Ken pair and the two extreme misbars have been moved to that tank. As of right now there are two pairs with fry, being my Chris Butcher male with his platinum female and the two super blue ones from Rusty. I have moved the first pair to my dorm (Sunday night), and the female's ovipositor is already starting to drop. I expect eggs from them by this weekend.


Some other pics of the ones I moved:
Smaller one is Joe Middleton stock. Big guy was bred from the 2019-2020 stock of tuic HRPs.

They are doing well. I’m on vacation right now, get back in a little over a week and I’ll get some better pics when I’m back.
I’ll see if I have more pics somewhere, later but here’s an image I do have of my wetspot male you sent me
