Hybrid + close relative =???

Of course, it's not worse to avoid interbreeding if possible :)

But If it's no real problem, which means in my eyes, that it has no negative consequences for the fishes which have been "produced" by interbreeding , why is it "not right" :confused: Possibly only, because it's not right, when humans interbreed and that's hidden somewhere deep in the backyard of everyones brain and transferred to anything else.......

I think there is a miscommunication on relative ray- It probably means the hybrid PDR/Pearls related species, which is referring to PDR. (What is posted looks like a bad translation from Chinese - I face this problem when reading articles from Dutch and German Ray sites too)

By F1 or F2 I mean-

PDR mixed with Pearl = F1 PDR/Pearl

F1 PDR/Pearl mixed with PDR = F2 PDR/Pearl

F2 PDR/Pearl mixed with PDR = F3 PDR/Pearl

The father may not be the same PDR but rather just the same species. (Although I will not rule out using a white based Pearl as the 'relative.') This information is usually not shared by ray breeders to protect their investment.

if this is right and its not actually a related ray that is being bread with the pups then thats not to bad.

im not one for hybrid rays still but it makes you want to change your mind.
i will never agree with breeding related rays.

it dose look like alot of work has gone into it and they look stunning.

very interesting

i have always been against inter breeding

cross breeding one type of ray to another i don't think is that much of a problem

i can see problems happening later on if this continues for example if brother and sister or 2 different breeds of ray both have a big amount of growth gene we may end up with 5ft/180cm leos or the people messing with the genes could be hoping for smaller leos of a max size of 12inch / 30cm

who knows what they are hoping to gain from playing god

you got to admit tho a 5ft Leo would be some sight:headbang2 i do agree though that playin god is wrong but it is somthing that some people wouldnt bat an eye lid at if they can make money out of it, take dyed fish for instance, and having love hearts and your name tattoo'd onto the side's of fish it's just plain cruel but i cant see it stopping anytime soon:irked:
 
it is possabile for a 5ft leo

look at the lion x tiger cross same thing breeding 2 types of cat to get the liger that thing is massive

why compare fish to humans. most animals inbreed monkeys dolpins dogs cats etc..
