I Got My Freshwater Bumble Bee Grouper!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well did u get the point

it really depends upon what it is your trying to "convert" mono's have been bred in asia for many years in pure fw......... but these pure FW monos tend show signs of "stress" very easily....... while the true "brackish" mono's tend to be more stable......... We all know peacock can be a p-cock but I understand his concern.......... Its a fine line between what can and should be "converted" ......... some fish are more tolerant of different conditions while some should never be subjected to the conversion process......... discuss for example ..... these fish are F10000 captive bred....... yet one still needs to keep em in a acidic ph range.......... should'nt that many generations have changed the dna makeup to make them more tolerant to harsher aquarium conditions? I would like to see the day in which one can keep corals and SW fish among a school of neons.......... but how far if at all possible will we(humans) take it.......

Was everyone too engaged in a heated discussion about the ethical issues associated with exploring the osmoregulatory tolerance of Epinephelus lanceolatus to notice that Li's datnoid is looking at the grouper with a "WTF is that thing doing in my tank" look? ;)

F100000 I like that. LOL! I agree with you there Harold. I believe after all the generations of being captive bred they tend to be more tolerant of a wide variety of conditions. I did meet someone before and saw his Discus doing very well in a higher pH range. If I remember right it was in the 7.5-8.0 range and they showed no signs of stress and were eating and growing fine.

hhahahah. Jess, any info here? You are usually good with this kinda stuff.

At any rate- Yes, This is quite amazing.. Im very curious as to see how these 2 fish do.

I would like to have one, a saltwater one, but even I dont have the tank space for such a giant beast.

These are not monster fish, they are epic legends of the fish world..
