Nice! I would take all the other fish out of the tank put some floss or a sponge over your intakes and let the parents raise the fry. Leave them with the parents for at least three weeks, I think it makes them better parents if they get to rase the fry as opposed to pulling them right away. I also think the fry are healthier and grow faster, at least in my experiance, I like to see it too.

I'll try to leave them in the 90 for as long as I can. Problem is the filtration - one AC110, eheim 2026, eheim 2028 and FX5. The fry may get sucked up even with sponge and it's hard to feed the fry in that tank. I don't have any other tank to move the filters to - they are all full already, lol

Wigglers are doing well and there seem to be more than I thought :)

Some interesting development - a second pair may have formed (beginning of the video). They took over the back left corner and dropped tubes last night. The other four are not allowed to come out of the top corners.

Good stuff, Peter - when they turn dark like that, you know they're "with fry" :)

I just pulled 2 pairs out of a 75g and put them into my 180g community. I have a hard time finding the fry to pull...and they don't seem to do a very good job defending for more than a week or so.

Thanks Matt :)

Why did you move the pairs to a community tank? More pairs in the 75?

The pairs would spawn on each end of the 75 (which was also a community)...most recently including some Uruguayan punctata pikes (which wasn't really so helpful in the fry-rearing department)...so they weren't able to raise fry there either. The 180g is busy but easier to see what's going on and maybe pull some wigglers. Amazingly, I have insignis festivums and other fish spawn in there and actually raise fry for a few days (before the inevitable). Uruguayan acaras are going into the 75g...

I also have a pair of Krobia in a 2x2x1' tank...which I need to put a heater on...to inspire (more) spawning...and actual fry raising (maybe).

I pulled the fry a couple of days ago when they became free swimming and, guess what, they spawned again! That's two spawns in 8 days.:nilly:
