Well, you did just read through my entire brackish aquarium history. there were bound to be some boo boo's in there.

While there were many tragic mistakes early on, the steady trend of attrition stopped 10-12 years ago with a pretty stable tank since that time (except the moving accidnet 6 years ago when I lost everything, including that big fire eel).

My losses these days are few and far between, and either freakish (eel into pump) or solitary, spontaneous, and ususally inexplicable.

It really is a shame, but "experience comes from our errors", and I am quite experienced (to the betterment of my current fish).

Brackishdude, I was wionderinf what kind of sand/ substrate you used, and if you would advise doing the same thing in a 90 gallon? I love the look of your tank, and might be trying to copy it, if thats ok. Also, what happens when you siphon the sand? Does the sand get removed in this process?
