Thanks, what's a "cay"? If you mean rays I'm not sure they would like having stones as a substrate. I'm going to add some round Mexican river rock whenever I get them cleaned up.
No sorry i Ments 'Cats' Silly me :D

So I added some more water and tried to start it up. It seems that whenever I add water it disappears after a while. There's no leaks anywhere and the floor is bone dry. I noticed that when I switched off the pumps there's a gurgling sound. It seems like it's coming from the sprinkler valve that I'm using for water changes. It's plumbed into a 4" drain line and it's supposed to be closed. I have a feeling that it's defective and is not closed so the water is draining away.

You can see it in this pic. It's the thing with the rain bird tag on it.

That is a super nice tank. I love the idea of the corner viewing window. Gives the most optimal viewing pleasure. The webcam is a great idea as well. I have seen quite a few websites where people have a live stream of their tanks. very neat.

Where possible can the water be draining too? Do you have the sprinkler valve plumbed to a drain or sink of some kind? Would all of this water be draining out to there? You might have to get a new valve is that is the case.

Thanks. I'm probably going to rebuild the web cam just won't mount it inside this time. :screwy:

The water drains into a house waste inlet. I took apart the sprinkler valve and there isn't anything clogging it. Put it back together and it seems to be holding now. It said something about bleeding it with a valve. Don't know a lot about sprinkler valves but they seem very simple. When I turn it on I can hear the solenoid buzzing. When I turn it off now I don't hear any more gurgling so I think it may be working.

Time to refill :headbang2

Sweet tank for some sweet fish...I would get more stuff in there...more tree stup etc. I might also make some large fake plants out of strips of garbage bags or something.

Then again, if you have done this much, you can probably splurge a little to get huge fake plants.

Some anubias or other low light stuff growing on your dw in tank would add a cool effect.

Floaters or some real lily pads too.

Your all set up for a trickle system. Pitch the valve and run your drain up to the surface of the water, whatever height you have now. Set a trickle of 1 to 2 gallons an hour going into your tank. The extra water will over flow into your drain. No moving parts or valves to fail. No power issues with buzzing solenoids and so on. Once set up you can forget about water quality issues. As the fish grow just increase the trickle. I test my water once a month if the water is clean I throttle back on the trickle a little or don't do anything. If the water is dirty I increase the trickle a little. This system is easyer on the fish too because your not slamming them with a 20% water change in an hour or so. Just one or two gallons an hour is easy on the fish.
