Parrot's Feather should bounce back as long as it "feet" are in the water.

Another log would make for a great bask site. Maybe anchor it w/fishing line and weight so it stays more in the middle of the pond.

Yeah the feet are in water....that bowl I have the lod in now fills with water that seep through the wood and drains into the pond under the log so it stays with water in the gravel. Will it send out other shoots or will i have to plant more to get it thick?

I actually have the cork bark like that with fishing line and weights to keep it in the middle. Its just not big/sturdy enough for my big gal.

It should sprout new growth. In Chicago, it is treated as a annual. Some will overwinter in the bottom of the pond, but usually just replace each year. I've used it in heavy flow areas w/great success. Once it starts pushing new growth, try a few stems floating at the surface by the edges of the pond.

My turtle and kit will not let any plants grow so far. That and the small parts that brake off clog my pump and slow the filter down and make it turn green. I am going to try some baskets with some plants next season....

I love this pond! I am getting ready to attempt my first pond, and this looks like something I could do. Is there some way that I could get you to give me more details? Like, perhaps, what you used (sizes, etc.)? I am a total newbie at this and anything that you could tell me would make my day! :)

Thanks in advance!

the driftwood water fall is awesome
