You have everything set up right, I bet next year it will be cleared out. It just takes soooo much longer than a tank to get thoroughly stabilized and balanced.
I think you're right and key work is balance, there is a lot of water to too get right.

WOW great story, the people over at this EA place sound really swell, they should be here instead of there. But what I can't get over is that you have not just one pond but 2 and that you don't have boxes of thread tape just laying around just in case theres trouble........Seeing on all the hassel yu've already went through to get this thing setup. Thread tape gotta be like what $ oops 2 pounds 6 pents.
...and to top it off on the way out he said, get anymore trouble with just bring it back in and I'll sort it!
It really is a shame when a good customer service is so rare it warrants a long post.
I can only compare this to epson many years ago when my printer broke and I filled in an online form, a day later I had an email asking for a scan of the receipt which I emailed off, 10am the next day a guy turned up on my doorstep asking for my printer to go back after I gave it him he went to the van and came back with a new one with a message from epson saying sorry about the fault, here's your new printer and some free ink for your troubles......
Not really a pond update but I did say to greengiant I'd get some more photos of the progress.
Here a couple of b4 shots: Last few going down on the new bit: Here is the new patio done and planted: The old pond has started to be filled in and another patio is going to go across from the door to the fence, while we figure out what to do next on that side: I have to say a huge thanks to my Dad for clearing out that side of the garden this week as it was a total mess.
On the pond front blanket weed is still running silly, I've changed the plastic strainer on the SC intake as it needed cleaning daily to a larger metal one. I'm looking for some grass carp to help with the weed problem:
Thanks Liz, it's actually to stop the fish taking a ride through the system, not too much of a problem now they've got bigger, but somehow they all used to find a way into the bottom drain.

thanks Yanbrox thats looking great. your yardus becoming a real paradise that you will get to enjoy for many years thanks to all your hard work.
Thanks man, it's getting there slowly. The weed is really the pain, but nature and the new additions should help, pics as soon as the other pc starts to work, could be in a minute or a day at the moment..
Grass carp have been located and are in, not a bad size either. You could find them everywhere years ago but for some reason now they are hard to find:
Also after failing to keep the last 2 diamond sturgeon from the filter we've alway fancied getting another. As regular readers know they always find a way into the drain and somehow end up getting through the strainer in to the filters and dieing Now we guessed that the same happened to the sterlets as they would also take the ride underground, but we saw one at the weekend.
Anyway the solution was to get a much larger diamond:
Listen Yanbbrox, I've been watching you do this thing now off and on for what seems like forever. And I was wondering if i should invest in a pond, though I'm not big on Koi I'm more of a tropical guy. I'll just have you over to supervise things. I just need somewhere to get a hole that's large enough. Hmmmmmm, and some good sized fish
