We had one of those pool vacs that crawl along the bottom (there are alot of different varieties of them) when I was growing up. Our pool was screened in (central Florida, mosquitos..need I say more?) I'd imagine a pool thats not screened in would pretty much require one of those things. Just a thought, im no pool guy ;)

Could you set up a seperate system that is a sand or de filter just to vacuum it? It would be easier just to back wash the system then clean the catriges every week. I clean pools for a living and all of the portable vacuums I have used would not be able to handle the load (Just imagine full of fish). The portable vacuums are designed so you can lift them in and out of your truck, so the can not be to big.

I think a couple of my Guapotes are gaurding eggs. Here's the male and the female.

We are really enjoying the pond. Its getting clearer every day.
