NITRATE FILTER PROJECT UNDERWAY

Nice job. :) Truly fascinating thread!!! Might look into building one for my 180 Gallon. The makers of this micro c g stuff is in my neck of the woods too. :) Have you tested the water lately to see if this stuff messed with your water parameters besides nitrate? I know I will be nowhere near you in terms of fish and tank, but how much have this micro c g have you used already and how much has this saved on the water bill (dunno what kind of percentage WC rate you had before with your auto-waterchanger if you care to tell us). I was wondering if the water collected from the wet/dry sump will be too oxygenated for the anoxic bacteria and if a circulation pump will be detrimental as well?

i have just started a small one for a 1000 gal tank....using a 55 gal plastic drum....................

john when you get this done could you send me some specs on it?? this would be a nice addition to the ponds and soon to be new tank....

would something like this work on a 220 or is that too small?

just think no more water changes (or at least very few) and just topping up the wet/dry :D oh to dream!!! lol

make one from a 5 gallon bucket.....

Isn't this monster setup sort of the same concept as the Aquaripure Denitrator (www.aquaripure.com)? The only difference I can think of with the setup is that the monster version has an automatic feeder and the Aquaripure doesn't.

So will the Aquaripure work?

I was thinking of getting one for my piranha tank. I am tired of doing 2 water changes a week. I want to cut down my water changes to every other week with the Aquaripure.
