plans for the weekend - /\/\onster canister set up

Just got an Eheim 2215 to work along side 300 GPH of mechanical filtration on my 55 gallon. I was inspired by your thread to get an eheim low maintenance etc . Thanks for the write up! And wheres your fish in the tank pics!?

How do you get it started i cant seam to get mine primed.

For initial set-up:
Set it up, hang the suction side into the tank, disconnect the spray bar from the pressure-side hose and suck on the hose as hard and long as you can. Water will enter the canister. Reconnect the spray bar and wait until the canister is full of water. Then plug it in.

For maintenance: Close all quick disconnect valves, clean the filter, hook it all back up. Open the valves on the pressure side first, so that the hose is drained. Then open the valves on the suction side. The filter will automatically fill because of the water that was left in the suction-side hose. Plug in when full.

well harley never wanted to answer how much it would cost. So i estimate, it would cost roughly 680 dollars. With 19L of Media.

2262 = 430
2L of efimech = 20
10L of Substrate pro = 200
2L of filter floss = 8
5L of Course filter floss = 20

so you can pay 680 for a 2262 or 600 for a 2260m seem like a good deal to me

It's not "not wanting", it's using some stuff I already had from days past, and it's also not seeing the point of the question. The price is not a secret, a monkey can fill a shopping cart at BigAlsOnline and figure it out, it's really not rocket science ...

Your estimate sounds about right assuming you start from scratch, don't use pricematching or discount codes. Lastly, I didn't go with all SubPro, matter of fact I'd actually recommend using all regular EhFi substrate.
