my rtc x tsn hybrid has grown 5 in. over 2 months. is that normal?
I am surprised he didnt grow 5 inches in one month but i would limit the feeding of the fish so he does not grow big fast thats what i did but just make sure you keep himhelthy

What is the minimum tankmate size for RTC? In a snakeheads case is to not have a fish shorter than 2 thirds its length. How about a RTC? I'm afarid one of my plecs or oscar gets chowed down....

Well if you get the hybrid they grow EXTREMELY fast. When I got mine he was 2 inches now 6 inches that's how fast they grow he already wasted 10 bucks by eating my 2/4 bala sharks so I had to move him to a smaller tank. So the max would probably be about 5 foot in a big enough aquarium I'm not exactly sure on this tho they require a HUGE tank but they are awesome fish.

Yes and No. My rtc ate the my lima since the rtc grew faster. I have a 22" rtc he has eaten everything oscars, plecos, everything. His growth rate was faster than all of his tankmates. If you want to mix a lima with a rtc. get a big lima and a very small rtc. at some point the rtc will surpass the lima and then eventually eat him, but at least you'll get to have both for about six months ish!!! I have a 5" rtc, 2 6" rtc/tsn, and a 6" tsn in the grow out tank, they grew to that size from less than 3" in a month. Yes I am power feeding them. Tilapia YUM!!!
When you have a rtc be prepared to lose fish even those you don't you'll lose...
