They are still very small, this is likely why the light bothers them so much. My old RTC didn't care about lights at all.
I HAVE A 10" RTCXTSN HYBRID. SHE STARTED GETTING THE SAME MENTIONED YELLOWING AT AROUND 2MOS. IS IT DIET? GOOD OR BAD?necrocanis;933898;933898 said:shrimp and crayfish will give catfish that cream yellow or orange color. My hybrid channels are both a nice darkish yellow almost orange, and I never noticed till I rescued the new one I have and it's solid white lol. I've been feeding him shrimp and now he's turning yellow too. My rtc x tsn also has this tinting in his belly, and my little 7" rtc has it also. I think it's cool. Beautiful cats by the way.
I USE A MUCH SMALLER, WEAKER LIGHT SORT OF AS A "PRIMER". I USUALLY TURN IT ON FOR A FEW MINUTES FIRST. THEN TURN ON MY MAIN LIGHT. I've kept them in a 20gallon tank till such time they are big enough to not be considered dinner for my Silver Arowana in a 200g tank. I have two questions.
A, will a 200g tank (with no large decoration pieces) be big enough for them once they mature?
B, They freak out (especially the TSN) once I turn on the lights of the tank. They're finally eating pellets (Hikari sinking), but they only do so when the lights are turned off. The RTC will go around looking for the pellets, however I have to drop the pellets right on top of the TSN to get its attention, it never eats otherwise. Is this all normal? When will they stop being so light sensitive?
hello, just wondering how many times should i feed my 6" rtc a week, at the moment i am feeding him everyday with shrimpnecrocanis;910487; said:It really just depends on your individual limas. As I said in the example of my three one would have been ok in a 55 gal for at least a year, but the other two grow way to fast to last in one. Good luck, and hope to hear more from you in the catfish section.
