First, these are NOT my pictures. I took these off the web. I decided to make this a Panamanian set up instead of a Usamacinta set up. The two species will be Darienheros Calobrensis and Parachromis Friedrichshtali (formerly Loisellei). The Ctenokucius Hujeta will come back in here after the cichlids are added.
Thinking of wanting to do a third species of cichlid that stays smaller to take advantage of the smaller caves in the scape and am torn between Amatitlania Nanoluteus or Myrnae. The latter being easier to source right now.
Or I could use up the tank space with a dither/target fish. It’s impossible to find characins from Central America and larger SA characins that are available either are too small, they get too big, or they eat plants. Thinking the west African Bryconalestes Longipinnis would be a nice substitute and will get to 5-5.5”. That should work with the Loisellei. At least for a while.
