The evolution of the scape in the 280 over the last several weeks. Got a ton of the lace rock about two weeks ago and just threw them in randomly and played around with the wood. This is always the best first step because it lets you really get a good look at each individual rock and piece of wood.

from there you get a general idea of how you would like to lay the scape out and you put the main bones of the scape together and hold off on adding the “detail” pieces until the bones of your scape are sound and solid.

then you add the detail pieces and you just tinker a little bit every day. Fine tune Along the way. That way the scape is always changing and evolving over time.

truth is, the scaping is more my passion than just the fish. Especially scaping large tanks for large fish. Making them two work together is the pursuit.

It’s nice to have an official reset. It feels good to make a change. Recharges you.

One more pic to close out the updates

#mfk #monsterfishkeepers Haven’t hash tagged in a long time. Merry Christmas to all the friends I’ve met over the years on this site. From the East Coast back to the West.

Decided that the Hemiodus wouldn’t work long term with the Umbee so I pulled them into the 280 for the future P. Friedrichshtali. Also added back the Hujeta Gars which should work for a good bit in here.

Picked up 11 Anubias Congoensis plants. They’ll sit in these pots for the week and will be planted the next water change. New fish should arrive this coming week as well. Next weekend this tank will be finished from a livestock perspective. Once I find a couple good pieces of lace rock, we should be good to go.
