personally i would be cutting them holes now before fitting the frames, then when the windows go in u can seal all around the inside and out to make sure no water will get out from any where
thats just my opinion, u might have a better plan
It might also make it easier for u to straighten the liner out properly as it has a proper grip with the frames keeping it in place
The way i was gonna do it has changed as i'm not trusting tarps to be water proof anymore. will put pictures on for ya when i do it
The frames will only be fitted to the liner now which actually makes the job easier from what i originally planned with trying to seal it to 3 layers of tarp! The tarp inside that's going to be the finishing surface of the pond will be cut and fitted around the outside of the frames.
The frames will have their back surfaces thickly covered with the pond sealant i have, be held in place (somehow) where they're going to be fitted while i drill through the ready countersunk holes, through the liner, and into the wooden frame behind. Then a screw covered in more sealant will be screwed tightly into the hole to sandwich the liner tight between metal window frame covered in sealant and the wooden pond frame. There's a crap load of holes on each frame to have to do this to and should hold it in place and tight enough to make a waterproof seal between the metal frame and the pond liner.
Once it's all dried and secure, then i'll cut the liner out from the middle of each window.
When all 3 are done and the tarp's in and cut i'll silicone the glass into the metal frames, cover any other exposed metal with more silicone, and silicone the cut edges of tarp to the outside of the frames. Fill slowly with water and watch for leaks.
