A friend of mine uses a pond liner in each of his two large plywood tanks. One is 2600 the other is 2200 or so. Each has 3 6' x 3' glass windows. What he did is attach a hard rubber gasket to the pond liner with rubber cement. After that dries, he seals the glass to the hard rubber with Dow 795. Once that cures, he test fills the tank. If satisfied with the seal, he trims out the pond liner from the outside of the tank to expose the viewing window, then finishes out the window with trim molding.

I was going to use that method on my tank before I decided to go with Permadri's Pond Coat (US version of Liquid Rubber Zavlar).

I have a folding technique for pond liners that I can show you (or you can look for yourself in my original build thread) that eliminates the bulking of the liner. It would work just as well with the tarps, but I would advise against the tarps since they will break down quickly when submerged constantly.

Thanks pete.

where does he get the rubber gaskets from or were they specially made? That could be an option if the frames dont work.

the way it is now the tarp won't need to be water proof, it's just protecting the liner from teeth and giving the pond a blue background rather than black so it's easier to see the fish. I'll have a looky at your no bulking method for that, should make it look neater. Thanks for the tip.
