I think this is the right thread for asking this, what would be the plants that are available (terrestrial ones) for filtration, I need a list, yes because I will make a plant filtration section for my looped filtration system. It's in planning stage so no pics. Sorry. Plants such as pothos, I really want a plant jungle in the loop.
As far as I know per volume pothos are the best at reducing nitrates so I would go mainly with that. However duckweed, wandering jew, peace lillies and many pond plants will look nice!
Here's a great thread on terrestrial plants http://monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=410493

I mean any other than that, I also want a jungle salad in top of the filtration system... more plants? I also do have pothos, I'm really having problems trimming them but I do want more plants adding to that. Just askin. Thanks.
I'm wondering if instead of constantly trying to pin the plants and control the growth if one could just regularly prune them? Stems and roots to keep them at a manageable size.

Excuse the state of affairs. Currently remodeling the fish room. Some tanks are going in some walls to free up floor space. That's a $5 plant light from Walmart by the way. Seems to be working. The plant is growing. And I love the low level filtered light it puts in the tank.

Its a 4ft four bulb t5.
If I ever have some extra time and money I will get a tank for my pothos plants so I can get the roots outta the main tank.
I need something acrylic so I can drill it w/ the ease knowing its not tempered. That way it can just drain via gravity back to the main tank.
