Yeah lucky bamboo w/pothos. I hear the bamboo works, but not as well because they are slower growing plants. All have gown alot of roots. It is in the back of my penguin 350. Can't really tell a difference in nitrates yet. Only been a month or two. Will keep you updated on this.

Anybody ever think of putting these into ponds? Will they out compete free floating algae for nitrates?

I am building a small outdoor pond right now and plan to try Pothos in the filter sump area. It will not last the winter here but could be a good three-season plant. I would just rip it out once the cold weather arrives. Will report back on hos it goes.

Sounds good. I have a fairly large pond that I can just drape the pothos over, how much do you think I need?

I think putting them into a HOB filter would provide them with better water flow which would make them more efficient.

The roots do like flow but an hob has its restrictions as well.

Sounds awesome, do you have any tanks inside?

I would use a pond plant basket like i did on page one, or they have floating ones too.

Go to your lhs and get 1 pot of pothos for every 100gal if you want to notice a decent nitrate drop.
