How you can belive such a statement like "it is only one in aquarium trade" You think ashdavid make a special order to collectors for alto tocantis, and they catch only one for one and only ashdavid himself the king of all aimaras....forghet it bro.

Comming from someone who can't even ID a Mala... So how would you know what I did to get this Aimara? Your assumptions make you look ignorant.

Thanks for compliment.

But you should also not forget that suppliers from different areas are usually contracted to collect by wholesalers. The aimaras you are seeing are comming from Venezuela which is a completely different area to where the rarer Aimaras are comming from. Obviously Japan has a lot of the contracts and usually gets first dibs on rare fish, although Germany does get its fair share too. There are hundreds of Aimaras from amapa (which I would not consider rare in the true sense of the word) here in Japan which cannot be imported any more, nor can the aimara from Xingu. Of corse same applies to Alto Tocantins. So it is easy to get information from the collectors in that area as to if they have caught a certain fish before and exported it. And this fish was a special order. :)

So with some confidence I can still say that this is the only one that has been imported from that area.

Oliver Lucanus is only one guy, that is who you are refering to correct? He is most likely the only person importing Aimara into Canada. He has only been getting Aimara as of late, trust me I have been bugging him for years. He also only has Guyana Aimara, his VZ are gone. I know because I have two...

When you pay that kind of money for a fish, yes, that is quite likely. Just because this fish probably cost more than you make in a month, doesn't mean some person who makes more can't buy it :p.
