I would use actual bulk heads bro. Those DIY deals usually leak if not now than it will for sure later down the road. You can get them in SLC, Ogden, or online.

:iagree:It would be worth the money.

Get real bulkheads! Drill the hole, paint the inside of the tank and the area where you have drilled through the wood. I dont recommend putting LR on the outside of the hole. The LR will grip the nut used to tighten the fitting and you may never get it off should you have too. As far as not doing the overflows my way, thats OK, it is your tank. I have the satisfaction of knowing that someday you'll see I was right.:D

Is the gas under the tank so you can torch it if you're not satisfied?

Nice tank btw.

haha ya the gas was just a reminder for the wood to behave while it was getting put together :) ok fine ill get real bulkheads i guess..... not a big deal haha. and ross i was totally sold on building the box on the back until i realized i would have to drill my return water lines in the bottom of the tank. that makes me a little nervous if i bulkhead failed.

You can put the returns lines anywhere you want them. My return lines are in the top two corners of the tank. Maybe my thinking was not clear! It happens a lot lately.

still no liquid rubber because of the holiday weekend im sure. anyways i went down and got my REAL bulkheads and settled on how i will make my overflow boxes. ill Probly get started on them shortly. meanwhile i got bored and built an 82 gallon tank today hah i am getting p. bass and will need something for my smaller slower growing geophagus tapajos i picked up. i also decided what i will be stocking in this tank. 2 arows 1 black 1 silver. 6wild geo dicrozoster 3 geo tapajos. 2 p. bass and haven't decided if i will move the 2 fronts into it or not yet
