can't wait to see this tank all finished. awesome!

i like the overflow on the back and i was going to do it but i had 3 problems that i would have ran into. for now i am running the plumbing threw the wall but eventually the whole tank will be in the wall and the room on the back side is only 4 inches wider than my tank sits now so it would have never fit. anyways this is getting pretty annoying waiting on the rubber because all i need to do is paint my walls and floor of the tank then set the glass in. im thinking about 2 weeks maximum including drying and curing time. i just need to get my stinkin rubber here hah. i was going to do 10 coats on the walls with a roller does anyone think that's overkill?. i have already got 4 coats on the joints so if i put 10 on the walls it would be plenty i would think right?

I think you only need a 30mm thickness (the thickness of a dime).

GLORIOUS DAY!!!!!! my bucket showed up today and i got to work. i painted 1 coat and let it completly dry and checked for bubbles or anywhere it didnt stick very well to the wood. then put another 2 coats on after. i have 3 layers on the walls and 5 on the joints now. i plan to do a coat in the morning and evening until i have 10 on the walls and 12 on the joints.. i can finally get going again :headbang2

Go ahead and do the 10-12 coats. Better too many then too few. Make sure you dont get any LR on the fiberglass where you need to seal the glass. I figure that goes without saying but I had to say it anyway.....just in case. On the final 2-3 coats keep the direction of the roller pattern in mind, you will be able to see it when the tank is filled. The smoother the better. I think rolling the last coats on with the roller going horizontal looks best.
