Can somebody tell me how much it would cost to have DNA analyzed, or ? I am not convinced that my smaller gar is a Florida Gar now, that I can compare it to my Spotted.
To me it does, because if it's TRULY a Florida, then I have all seven species. If it is a Spotted, I need a Florida. I do not want two of the same kind.
I'd be more worried if my spotted was a true spotted. Because the Florida gars are the easiest to get hold of. How do you know your spotted is a spotted

I'd love to have all the species of gar I only have 3 long nose. Gator and Florida. Do you have all of them in the same tank if so I'd like to see a pic of the whole tank with all of them together

For me, it's the opposite. My Spotted Gar came from Missouri - and is the real thing. The "Florida" (smaller one) is the one in question.
I can find a Florida easily - but I don't want two.
I'll take some photos - five are together, two are in another tank. They all get along perfectly.
I have caught them out of the Illinois river here in Illinois. But there always to big for what I'm looking for I catch longnose shortnose and spotted all in the same spot in the river I have always wondered if the could cross breed
