Lots of pics past and present

I have a tetra that looks very much like a black neon, but that the finnage has a red tone to it. It is hyphessobrycon nigricinctus.

Yes I've seen those before, they are very nice. I believe they are from Peru aren't they?
Have you ever spawned any tetras before Lilyann?

No, I havent spawned tetras yet, but, I am going to try my first spawning with the Tucano and the h. nigricinclus. I have heard that t former is easier to spawn, the later is more difficult. The Imperials are from Peru.

I would be interested to hear how it goes.
I've never tried to breed any tetras before but I think I will be trying soon.
I would love to breed the bentosi tetra. I've been really taken by them.

The Ornate tetra is very pretty, I havent seen them in person, however, only on the net.
On Seriously Fish it looks like the bentosi, if in a high enough numbered group and in a densely planted environment, may spawn unassisted. That would be a good variety to start out with.

Stanz,

Haven't chatted with you in a while but it looks like you've certainly gone through some changes with your stocking since the last time we talked. Sorry to hear about the helleri tank, that's a bummer.

Any idea what happened to the EA cichlid forum we use to chat over on? It appears to have disappeared...

Chris

Hello Chris,
Long time no speak. Hope your ok mate.

The eacg collapsed due to inactivity. It was a real shame. The forum had some very knowledgeable members and was a great place to visit.
Lee Nuttal introduced me to the forum some years back. Back then it was thriving. Sadly it became dead and had to close.
Any way,it's good to hear from you again Chris.
All the best.

Looks like such an entertaining tank to watch. I bet I could sit in front of that for hours.
Thanks Gourami,
Yes it is entertaining to watch. It's starting to annoy my Mrs how much time I spend gazing at it.
I find the Bolivian rams a very interesting little species. They remind me of thorichthys, the way they spar off with each other. Another one of those cichlids that are at their best in groups. Can't wait for some spawning to start.
