hey danny boy, this is a DIY project. not how much money you can spend. If I wanted I would go out and buy top of the line stuff, and have the best fish that money could buy. but in reality the more money you save, the better for you and the hobby. for me I like the challenge to do something that will look nice, and cost the least. but then again that's just me...

Yea, just havent had any time to work on it, everytime i go down there my 3 and 5 year old are there "helping" so I dont get anything done, but we do have fun.

I agree with andy, its a challenge, and its unique, not cookie cutter stuff you get at walmart or lfs. ive spent two to three hundred bucks i suppose. Its not about the money, wife and I both have very good jobs, and if i could redo it, I would buy the tank, and diy everything else. It was just one of those things, wanted to try it. I am still confident it will be nice in the end

Sweet! The entire setup just looks great. I have played with the idea of building a tank, and now after seeing your tank, I am going to have to try it.

What are the plants? Silk or Plastic?

Thanks for the kind words, helps keep me movitvated to go to the dungeon and work in it. I might even put it upstairs and start cycling it this weekend

The plants are from wallmart, couple plastic, the big one is silk i think, gonna take super glue and reinfoce all the connetctions on them, think i spent like 5 or 6 bucks on them.

Later

that is really awsome, you did something unique and shared it with the rest of us. I have gone DIY myself several times (filters etc. never a tank) and never would have had the courage to share. Kudos and good luck
